Civilization is what makes you sick - Paul Gauguin

I’d like to think that these Goldinesque slideshows I make every couple of years don’t exhibit a poverty of ideas or any creative sterility on my part. Much rather the physicality of the process; the collating, editing and viewing of photographs in this way – along with the right kind of music (which, paraphrasing Wagner, by it’s very nature sifts out a more poignant essence of the temporal) allows me to witness a more gratifying and instantly apparent progression of this series.

Get Some Young is a title taken from an American short story by Barry Hannah. I like it because, not only is it a tale about corrupted youth, but in the context of the story it has the dual meaning: Get Some [sex whilst] Young, and, Get Some [sex from the] Young.  This is funny, because as my friends and I push further into the grey area between youth and adulthood, some, by which I mean Ben, haven’t acknowledged certain age boundaries and who it’s not okay to sleep with anymore. So that title is for him. The cock.
